Living Stones, Holy Priesthood

1 Peter 2:5

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (KJV)

And like living living stones be yourself built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (RSV)

Present yourselves as building stones for the construction of a sanctuary vibrant with life, in which you'll serve as holy priests offering Christ-approved lives up to God. [MSB]

Apostle Peter had his name changed by Jesus to Cephas, which literarily means 'A Stone'. He understood that there are dead stones and living stones. Dead stones are people who do not have the Holy Spirit living and working in them. Living stones are also people whom the Holy Spirit has breathed His breath of Life into. They are the ones that He raises up to replace the dead stones who refuse to praise Him. They are the building blocks of God's true house, with Christ as the chief cornerstone.

You are an holy priesthood.

The first element worthy of note is the word 'holy'. Are you holy? Or are you among those with the school of thought that it's impossible to be holy?

Holiness as a child of God is not gotten as a result of your good works. That was why the old covenant failed in the first instance: the people's works (which most of the time were anything but good) were unable to save them.

God sent Jesus to be our righteousness. Holiness is gotten and maintained by believing and staying in Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to do a complete work in you.

Then next point to note is the word 'priesthood'.

Priesthood connotes service and work. It's not a job for casual Christian who are content to just receive the blessings without loving the blessed Blesser. Priesthood is a call, an office that must be entered into with fear and trembling.

A priest(ess) denies himself of comforts. A priest (ess) must be selfless.

The main focus of any true spiritual priest(ess) of the New Covenant is God. Priesthood is to minister first of all to Yahweh, the One who dwells between the cherubims. In worship and adoration. Not in fear of being struck dead like the priests of the old testament. But because we approach Him by the blood of Jesus, on the basis of being not just priests but also sons and daughters of God.

The secondary focus of true spiritual priesthood is the people. We are called to intercede and pray for all men. We are commanded to love them and show compassion to all, just as Christ does. As priest(ess) of God, we must be willing to disregard our high status, our ego, our age and come low to the level of even the worst of sinners and love them and pray for them with compassion and urgency.

It's a gigantic task which can only be carried out well by the leading and help of God's Spirit. Yes, It's not easy. But it's totally worth it. And if Jesus could do it, so can we.

Heart Prayer

Lord, we thank you that we have been chosen to be living stones and an holy priesthood unto you. Help me to fulfil this ministry. My strength might fail, but yours won't ever.

Jesus, please make me like you.

Amen.

The Truthful and Spiritual Worshipper

A TRUTHFUL WORSHIPPER?
Many Christians have not attained the highest plateau of a worshipper majorly because they are ignorant and still lie to themselves that they know.
It is when you know what a Worshipper does and who he/she is, that you'll be able to examine yourself and ascertain if truly you are one.
No matter how much a pet cat tries to convince itself that it is the King of the jungle, it doesn't make it a lion.
Some Christians, deep in their spirits, know that there has to be more in God. But because they know what prize they have to pay to access the fullness of God, they revert back to mediocrity.
"After all, everyone is comfortable with the way things are, so why shouldn't I be?" They tell themselves.
If that is your category, the Holy Spirit is telling you that He has reserved to Himself 7000 who have not bowed to Baal and are seeking him.
You have to tell yourself the truth. Honestly judge yourself and check if indeed you are worshipping God in the way He accepts. Don't be like the Pharisees of Jesus' time who stuck their noses up in the deception of religion and tradition.
To be a truthful and spiritual worshipper, there are things you must be aware of. I pray the Holy Spirit will enlighten you and give you understanding as you read this post that is written in feeble human language in Jesus name.

A SPIRITUAL WORSHIPPER?
God is Spirit. He won't stoop to the flesh realm anymore. He did that once and for all in Christ. In the New Covenant, God is calling us up hither to His own plain. He is seeking souls who won't be satisfied staying in the valley of the flesh realm. He is seeking for souls that will take the risk to ascend the mountain of the spiritual Zion.
A spiritual worshipper is one moved and controlled by the Holy Spirit.
A spiritual worshipper is one that has mortified the flesh and have accessed the gates of heaven.
A spiritual worshipper is one who dwells in the presence of God. He has soaked in so much of the glory of God that the even the people in the flesh realm will be able to note the difference.

And in case you don't know, worship is not just about singing a slow song that stir up emotions and make you cry. Though, many times during the process of so doing, one is moved to genuine tears.
Worship in the New Covenant is a spiritual experience with God.

So I want you to be truthful with yourself. Ask yourself questions. Am I recognized by Heaven (hell, even) as a true worshipper.
Just how well do I know this God I'm worshipping?
Am I in truth and Spirit as I worship God?
Today, I beseech you that you yield to the Holy Spirit. He'll teach you how to offer acceptable worship sacrifice. So go to the altar and worship your God JEHOVAH in spirit and truth.

As this year is running out, I enjoin you to be named among the truthful and spiritual worshippers of God.
Shalom.

The Master Builder

1 Corinthians 3:10-13 (KJV) According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
As I was reading this scripture, I, rather funnily, remember a fairytale of the three little pigs, Browney, Whitey and Blackey who ventured out of home to start their independent lives.
Browney the laziest of them all, built his house of straw.
Then came the big bad wolf:
"Little pig, little pig, let me come in."
"No, no, by the hair on my chinny chin chin."
"Then I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in."
With no stress at all, the big bad wolf blew Browney's house down and ate him.
Same goes for Blackey who built his own house with wood.
But for Whitey who took time to build his house with sturdy bricks, the wolf was unable to succeed. He blew so hard that his cheeks hurt and turned deep purple, yet he was unable to blow Whitey's house down. And on the story goes.
Jesus also told a parable similar to the story above.
Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Jesus is the master architect, the master builder and, yet at the same time, the chief cornerstone.
The Bible says that except the Lord builds a house they who build it labor in vain (See Psalm 127:1).
We are God's temple. He can build us into a magnificent and beautiful edifice if we allow Him. But if we won't, if we think we can build ourselves, a trial will convince us that when the big bad wolf, the prowling lion comes, we might not be so lucky.
On the great day of judgement, our building will be tested with fire. That's why it's gonna be hazardous to use flammable material.
God will build us with gold and silver and all kinds of precious stones if we hand over our lives to Him and make Him our builder.
Shalom.

Little Sins, Big Sins?

1 Corinthians 5:6 (KJV) Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
1 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.
I was meditating on the above scripture when the Holy Spirit ministered to me an important message which I feel must be shared with every believer.
It is no news that we are daily in conflict with our flesh, sin, the devil or any other evil of some sort. Sin is a poison that can be fatal or can seep in slowly and unnoticed, until the threshold point is reached and then the vats burst with the wages of death.
We are easy to judge murder, fornication, drunkenness etc as sins. But what about that little white lie, that immoral thought we brood over in our minds, that unforgiveness, that gossip?
We try to vindicate ourselves from these sins with valid points.
If we lie or refuse to say the whole truth, we claim to be saving our neck from unnecessary wahala.
When we gossip about other people, we say we want to pray for them.
When we lust in our mind about a person of the opposite sex,  we say at least I'm not sleeping with the person yet.
When we refuse to forgive, we say he/she hurt me really bad.
Hear what Jesus says:
Matthew 7:1-5 (KJV) Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
That little speck of sin is enough to prevent one's entry into God's kingdom, how much more a whole lot or beam of sin. A little leaven, leavens the whole lump.
Those little foxes that spoil the vine must be caught and killed.
What do you do?
Confess every sin, whether grand or minute (as it seems to you) to God.
Ask Him to forgive you and give you Grace to never go back to your vomit, Grace to never go back to wallow in the mire after being washed.
May God help us.

SPIRITUAL SURGERY

Making Sure Your Personal Protective Equipment Suppliers Are Verified – Pro QC International – Blog

Diagnosis of the various spiritual ailments plaguing the patients

Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? Jeremiah 8:22

  1. Wounds and bleedings: These can be incurred by several means, some of which we'll examine through the help of the Holy Spirit. Pride and carelessness can make one that thinks he stands to fall rather unexpectedly. The higher the level from which one falls, the deeper and more severe the wound can be (and that if the person is fortunate enough not to be dashed into pieces). Some wounds are gotten during battle when the fiery darts of the enemy pierces through an unshielded soldier. While some of these wounds may be external and thus easily seen and treated, some might be internal wounds and internal bleedings in form of fractured bones, ulcers etc.
  2. Spiritual malnourishment or starvation: The bible says in Isaiah 55:1-2 that many people are spending money for that which isn't bread or wine. Many people unknowingly gobble down junk food or imbalanced diets once in a week and think that will be enough to sustain them. Some people have been drinking spiritual milk for so long that they've developed a condition known as lactose intolerance. They aren’t ready to eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus. They feel too lazy to tear the meat and crack the bone of the true Word of God. Consequentially, they become spiritually malnourished and are vulnerable to death caused by starvation.
  3. Spiritual cancer: Cancer is abnormal outgrowth of cells which flourish at the expense of its host. So also in the spiritual, many are carrying parasitic cancer, unnecessary weights that impede normal growth and movement.
  4. Spiritual poisoning: The bible calls it 'the sting of death'. If the spiritual hedge of fire built around a Christian is broken or breached due to sin, the serpents and scorpion have the legal ground to invade such life and bite, injecting the spiritual poison. Whether it's fast or slow, death is the endpoint if the antidote is not quickly administered.
  5. Spiritual fatigue and aches: This manifests as weariness in prayer, tiredness of soul from following the narrow path and continuing in the race. This fatigue overcame the likes of Elijah when he was running away from Jezebel, David after his town Ziklag was plundered by the enemy while he was away. It is as a result of trusting in the arm or strength of the flesh.

Other ailments are spiritual leprosy, blindness, deafness, dementia (forgetfulness), burns (when the scorching sun dries up the Word of God in such hearts or when the fire of tribulation consumes such)

Healing in His wings

But he was wounded for our transgressions, was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Jesus Christ is our Greatest Physician, Jehovah Rapha is He. The solution to our calamity

  • We must admit that we are sick and we should stop ignoring the symptoms any longer.
  • We must know that we need urgent treatment in the hand of the Physician as our sickly state is revealed to us. We shouldn't try to manage or accommodate the sickness in our system.
  • We must lift up our eyes and look unto the Son of God that is lifted up for healing as the children of Israel did in the wilderness.
  • Allow the Lord to do a thorough work in us until we are perfectly restored. Let's not stop Him halfway by our interference.

Lay your life bare upon the wheels of the Great Potter. Release your branch into the hands of the True Vinedresser. In the spiritual hospital of God's secret place (Psalms 139:15), there'll be various processes the Lord will use. Some will be quite painful initially (even if the Lord will be gracious enough to use anasthetic, it will eventually wear out). There'll be the amputation and pruning of anything that causes us to err (Matthew 5:29-30). There'll be implantations, transplant and transfusion. He'll feed us with the bread of life and the living water to strengthen us and neutralize the  power of evil poisons by His antidote. He'll put balm on our wounds and reset our broken bones.

Always keep your eyes fixed on Him and not yourself as He works on you. That's the secret. Happy healing and recovery as you choose to go to Jesus.

THE BODY OF CHRIST

jesus-christ-wallpaper (11).jpg (513×730) | Pictures of jesus christ, Bible pictures, Jesus pictures

At the last supper, Jesus declared that the unleavened bread which he broke and shared among His disciple symbolizes His body that was bruised, broken and given for all at the cross.

Glory be to God. Jesus' body was not subject to decay (corruption) in the grave. He arose with a resurrected, glorified body.

The body of Christ on earth was established to mirror the body of our resurrected Lord in Heaven. Thy kingdom ( Your body, dear Lord) come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

I pray that as you, my dear co-lover of The King, read through the following revelation, your eyes may be opened and your understanding enlarged to grasp the depths of this One whom we earnestly love and seek.

MEMBERS AND FUNCTIONS OF CHRIST'S BODY

  • His head is as white as snow. The hair signifies the glory and covering of baldness of a person. This is why the bible says that the glory of an old man is in his hoary hair and the hair of a woman is her glory. As white as snow shows the fact that that glory glows holy as a result of the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus. The hair isn't black, dark, colored, filled with lice or any other hair pest. It is pure white, Hallelujah!
  • His eyes are like a flame of fire. The best color on earth that can be used to describe this is the intense, burning blue-green color of the heart of a flame. Still, that description is nowhere close to what it really is like. Songs of Solomon 5:12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk and fitly set. The eyes of our Lord is keen, acute and precise to see plainly what is hidden to the natural perception. His eyes search to and fro the earth, even to the innermost parts of the heart.
  • His mouth spews out a sharp two-edged sword. The word that proceeds out of His mouth is Spirit and life, sent forth to convict and heal. His voice is like the sound of many rushing waters, like the clap of thunder accompanying the strike of lightning. His mouth is most sweet. His lips like a thread of scarlet with comely speech gliding out of it.
  • His nose perceives the sweet fragrance of His elect's worship and the incense of their intercession and prayers; conversely, he also smells the stink of the abominations of sin rotting in the world as he perceived from the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
  • His ears are sensitive to hearken to the cry and pleas of His saints. He hears the cry of agony and anguish of the oppressed as he heard the cry of the Israelites under bondage in Egypt. He hears our thoughts afar off; yes, including our innermost grumblings, vile thoughts and secrets. He hears and deciphers the tongues of the Spirit uttered beyond what words can express.
  • His face is like the countenance of the sun shining in its full strength. Beams and rays of His glory project from His face with such intensity that none is able to behold His unveiled face without at least being blinded or at most dying. His countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
  • His hands, His right hand in particular, hold the seven stars (that is the seven angels of the seven churches). Upon His palm is engraved the names of His  righteous ones. His hand does valiant things and works wonders. Imagine what havoc only his finger did to great Egypt of old -- How much more mighty deeds can His whole hands perform altogether.
  • His feet are like burnished bronze, refined as in a furnace. At the cross, He bruised the head of that old serpent with the heel of His feet. His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold.
  • His back (Which Moses was permitted to get a glimpse of) is full of the stripes He bore; just as His hands and feet still bear the imprint of the nails and His side the hole of the spear-piercing. His back is the testimony of His humility.

This, O daughters and sons of God, is a teeny-tiny bit of my beloved and my friend. He is altogether lovely and wholly desirable… Yes, Perfect perfection.

INTERCESSION FOR NIGERIA

30+ Best Nigerian Flag images | nigerian flag, nigerian, nigeria flag

HAPPY NEW MONTH AND HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL NIGERIANS

The bible says in the book of Psalms 122:6 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Nigeria):they shall prosper that love thee". Today is the mark of sixty years of independence for our British colonial rulers. We thank God for all His goodness towards Nigeria. God loves Nigeria and that's why despite the way the stink of our evil ways rises up to him continually, He has not obliterated us in His wrath. God has been so merciful and gracious unto us. But, we have to pray because things are not the way they should be. The spiritual climate of Nigeria is like a desert waste land. The economy is in shambles. The educational sector is in disarray. The unemployment and crime rate is at its peak. Corruption is the order of the day. Nigeria has become a by-word and a desolation among nations.

Many citizens of this sleeping giant of Africa speak of this country and the calamities befalling her as if they are separate from her. Some even try to escape to greener pastures. Whether you and I like it or not, we are what makes up this country. We are part of this land and every minute thing we do contributes to the collective status of Nigeria. As believers, we have to pray that the Lord would give us prayer burdens for Nigeria.

About a year ago, the Holy Spirit woke me up in the middle of the night and prompted me so strongly to pray for Nigeria. Ever since then, He began teaching me to intercede for Nigeria the same way Daniel, Nehemiah, Ezra and other saints of old interceded for Israel.

You and I are the watchers the Lord has set upon the walls of this nation. It is our duty to stand in the gap for Nigeria and quit remaining nonchalant.

I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem (Nigeria), which shall never hold their peace day nor night; ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, And give Him no rest, till he establish, and till He make Jerusalem (Nigeria) a praise in the earth. Isaiah 62:6-7 (emphasis mine).

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. Daniel 4:17

It is only through our genuine national repentance as it happened in Israel and Nineveh, that the Lord will shine His face upon us and heal our land. It is when we realize our folly and return to the Lord, then and only then are we truly free from the clutches of the spiritual pharaoh or prince of Nigeria oppressing us. Righteousness, the Holy Scriptures affirm, exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach, a bringer of shame, to a people.

Here are some prayer points with scriptural backing for Nigeria. Pray as led by the Holy Spirit for this list is not exhaustive.

  • Pray for the leaders in Nigeria. That they will be controlled by the Spirit of God. Proverbs 21:1
  • Pray that the Lord will send spiritual revival to this nation. That His kingdom be established upon Nigeria as it is in Heaven. That every tongue, tribe, state, local government area will experience the move of God. Psalms 80:3, 85:6
  • Pray that the mercy of God mixed with His righteous judgement (truth) will be poured upon this country. Psalms 85:10
  • Pray that the peace of God will reign. No more terrorism, kidnapping, insecurity, natural disaster etc in Nigeria in the name of Jesus Christ. Psalm 122:6-8
  • Pray that the Lord will through His blood wash away all the multitudes of our sins. Isaiah 1:18
  • Pray for a strong and stable economy for Nigeria. Deuteronomy 8:18
  • Pray for national unity and love in Nigeria. Psalm 133:1

As you pray in faith, rejoice in the lord for there is nothing too hard for Him to do. Nigeria's puzzle is a piece of cake for the Lord to resolve. The Lord has commissioned us as partners in His work. Without Him we are helpless and without us His work is limited. Let us keep praying and not faint until the righteousness and salvation of Nigeria goes forth as a burning lamp. Shalom.
